Maputo City Tour

Join us on a 3 hour tour of the magical city of Maputo. Your trip includes stops at the Fortress, Central Market, Museum of Natural History, Railaway Station and the Curio Market (which is only open on Saturdays). Along the way you’ll pass by City Hall, the Botanical garden and the Steel House designed by Eiffel. There is even time to do some curio shopping famously done on the sides of the roads. Your guide will be able to speak both English and Portuguese and there is an optional extra to include lunch, though drinks are excluded.

Maputo Elephant Reserve

Departing in the early hours of the morning, you’ll be picked up at your chosen destination with a packed breakfast. Your journey starts with a ferry crossing to Catembe and will continue along to the Hindu Temple in Salamanga. From there you’ll go onto the Maputo Elephant Reserve which is 4x4 terrain. The Reserve offers a prolific birdlife and hopefully sightings of elephant, hippos, crocodiles, reedbuck and Samango monkeys. The drive through reserve ends at the beach at Ponta Milibangalala where lunch will be served and you can enjoy a swim at the sea, weather permitting.

Macaneta

The Macaneta Peninsula is located 30kms north of Maputo and is reached by the EN1 highway and a ferry ride across the Incomati River at Marracuene. At Macaneta you’ll have an opportunity to swim in the sea and have a delicious seafood lunch at a local restaurant.

Swaziland

This full day trip includes shopping stops Manzini Market, Mantenga Craft Center and Guava Gallery. We then move on to Mantenga Cultural Village for an opportunity to appreciate the history and culture of the legendary Swazi nation. Here talented dancers perform against the beat of cowhide drums in the boma for a true cultural experience and afterwards there is an option for a short walk to the nearby waterfall. Lunch can either be had at Malandela’s or the Swazi Candle factory both of which places also boast tempting shopping experiences for good quality locally produced goods, before returning back to Maputo.

Kruger Park

The South African border is approximately 100 kms away from Maputo and beyond that not even 20kms from the border is the world famous Kruger National Park. Not to worry, our guides/drivers will help you through the border formalities. In the park you’ll get to take a leisurely drive and hopefully see sightings of any one of the amazing animals that are present in the Kruger. This includes elephant, buffalo, giraffe, impala, zebra and the more rare sightings of lion, cheetah and leopard. Lunch can be had at any one of the southern camps and afterwards on the return journey, you’ll opportunity for more sightings.

Hlane National Park

100 kms from Maputo into Swaziland’s Lebombo Mountains is the Hlane Royal National Park. Lion, elephant and other game can possibly be sighted from the open backed safari vehicle. Also included in this day trip is a game walk, where you’ll get to track White Rhino on foot. A true African bush experience not to be missed!

Inhaca Island
